mesic to mesoxeric meadow-steppe grassland species

a Pontic - west Siberian species which is quite frequent up to Prut river, then very insular and local westwards; one population in Transylvania, and another one in Hungary

Cirsio-Brachypodion, Danthonio-Brachypodion, occasionally in Pruno-Crataegetum

R34 habitats

very local in Transylvania (one population known for certain), insular in eastern Valachia, Moldavia and Dobrudja, with around twenty populations indentified there

 

 

 

 

A species which is extremely rare in Transylvania and very rare in Moldavia, Valachia and Dobrudja.

Pictures taken in April 2009 in the single certainly known Transylvanian population from Fanatele Clujului area, north-east of Cluj-Napoca, Cluj county. Understandably, due to the singular character and preciousness of this population its precise location nor images which would make this easy to find are to be published here.
